John K. Harris

Chairman, President & CEO

JK Harris & Company, LLC was founded by John K. Harris, who realized the great need for taxpayers to have adequate representation against the IRS.

Mr. Harris obtained his undergraduate degree (cum laude) in 1976 and Masters in Accounting and Tax from the University of South Carolina in 1977. Prior to founding JK Harris & Company in 1997 Mr. Harris spent 20 years in both industry and private practice as a CPA. Mr. Harris retired his CPA certificate in 1999 and has put his full energy into building JK Harris & Company into the nation's largest tax representation firm. Questions? Comments? Bob Harris

Executive Vice-President for Sales

Mr. Harris began his career with Chrysler Credit Corporation. After 10 years with Chrysler, he purchased his own automobile dealership and spent 16 years as a franchised automobile dealer. Mr. Harris is responsible for all corporate administration and the company's financial affiliate JKH Financial Services.

 

Bob J. Mickey

Enrolled Agent, Executive VP & Board Member

Mr. Mickey received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from High Point North Carolina after serving two years in the US Army. Mr. Mickey began a 30-year career with IRS. Starting as a Revenue Officer in Fayetteville, Bob excelled within the company and managed many divisions during his career. During Bob's career with the IRS, he served in numerous management positions including playing a key role in the Witness Protection Program and eventually retiring to Charleston, S.C. in 1986. He began his own small practice as an Enrolled Agent representing individuals and business before the IRS. In 1997, Bob joined JK Harris & Co. and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President and provides Senior Advisor support for JK Harris Section 165 Services.

 

Charlie Jones

Enrolled Agent, Senior Technical Advisor

Mr. Jones received his BA Degree from the Atlantic Christian College in 1954. Upon completing his degree, Charlie joined the Internal Revenue Service and started a career which spanned 34 years, of which 27 were in the Collection Division. After retiring from the IRS, he opened his own business in Cincinnati. From 1995 through 1998, Charlie worked for the Treasury Department in Eastern Europe with former Communist countries developing their tax systems. In March 2000, Charlie was granted a leave of absence from JK Harris & Company to consult internationally for the US Treasury Department as a tax consultant to the Finance Minister of the Republic of Georgia. He offered his expertise in the field of Revenue Collection to train the Revenue Officers of this former member of the Soviet Union.

 

Larry Phillips

Enrolled Agent

Mr. Phillips received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 1959. Larry's 30-year career with the IRS included various positions in the Examination Division: Senior Revenue Agent, full-time instructor, and Group Manager. Larry served as a technical advisor to Guam in the area of IRS audits as well as assisting in the creation of a tax department. With J.K. Harris, Larry serves as a technical advisor in the area of IRS Audits.
